About Subaru GL Series

Subaru GL Series is a compact vehicle manufactured by Japanese automaker Subaru division of Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) from 1971 to 1994. The first Subaru GL Series was introduced on October 7, 1971 as a front-wheel drive coupé to replace the Subaru 1000. In fact, Subaru GL Series is the Subaru Leone. Because Subaru Leone offered many trim levels whose name containing letters G and L, so it is often simply referred as the Subaru GL Series or Subaru L-Series. Subaru GL Series is a fairly well vehicle that had been produced through three generations before it was replaced by the Subaru Impreza.
When the second generation Subaru GL Series (1979-1989) was introduced in June 1979, it was available as a 2-door hardtop coupe, 4-door sedan, station wagon and a 3-door hatchback.
