For 2000 and 2001 models, the conventional antenna mast is located at the left front corner of the roof, with the cable routed through the left A-pillar, behind the left kick panel, under the driver's side carpet, and into the console area, connecting to a shorter cable plugged into the radio's backside. To detach the antenna base, remove the two mounting screws, then take out the driver side carpeting and the center console left side panel. Trace the antenna cable from the A-pillar through the kick panel area, across the floor pan, and up the left side of the center console to disconnect it from the cable leading to the radio by pulling the connector halves apart. After disconnecting the two cables, attach a wire to the old antenna cable and pull it up through the A-pillar, then connect it to the new antenna cable and run it back through the A-pillar, ensuring it is correctly routed to reconnect to the radio cable. Installation follows the reverse order of removal. For 2002 and later models, the rear window grid-type antenna is not removable, but if damaged, it can be repaired similarly to the rear window defogger.
