Instructions on how to take out and put in the heater and air conditioning control assembly are given. You can find the fog light switch and rear window de-icing switch at the left end of the instrument panel under the dashboard. Remove the flexible panel to reach the connections and switch release clips. With the instrument panel lower cover off, you unhook the fog light switch and rear window de-icer switch like you would on 2000 through 2004 Baja, Legacy, and Outback models. The hazard lights and rear window defrost controls in 2000 to 2002 Baja models sit in the center of the dash, just under the center vent. By taking out the center panel, you can find and remove the switch from that same panel. For cars built from 2003 on, the button for hazard flashers sits in the driver's dashboard, right above the blower unit. Undoing the dashboard center panel lets you take out and change the hazard flasher switch.
