- Q:How to Remove and Install Car Speakers and Various Components in a Subaru Impreza's Audio System?Posted by Ed B.A:Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the front cover and the center panel. Remove the radio mounting screws. Pull out the radio and mounting bracket assembly far enough to disconnect the antenna lead and electrical connectors from the backside of the radio, and remove the radio. Installation is the reverse of removal. Remove the radio. Remove the mounting screws and pull the satellite radio unit out from the instrument panel far enough to disconnect the electrical connectors from the backside, and remove the satellite radio. Installation is the reverse of removal. For door speakers, remove the door trim panel. Remove the door speaker mounting screws. Pull out the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker. Installation is the reverse of removal. For tweeter speakers, remove the mirror sail panel. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker. Remove the speaker mounting screws and remove the speaker from the panel.
