How to remove and install the steering column cover on Subaru Impreza?

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the steering wheel. If you need to remove the upper half of the steering column cover, remove the instrument cluster trim bezel. Note: It is not necessary to remove the cluster trim bezel to remove the lower half of the steering column cover. Remove the steering column cover screw (Steering column cover retaining screw (early model shown, later models similar)). Separate the cover halves (Disengage the locking hooks to separate the covers) and remove them from the steering column. Installation is the reverse of removal.
