How to Remove and Replace the Blower Motor and Blower Motor Resistor in a Subaru Outback?

Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor or power transistor, remove the blower motor resistor/transistor mounting screws and remove it from the heater/air conditioning case. On 2007 and earlier models, remove the glove box and glove box surround panel. On 2008 and later models, remove the passenger's side lower instrument panel. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor, remove the blower motor mounting screws and remove the blower motor assembly, then remove the fan from the motor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
