How to Remove and Install a Clutch Master Cylinder on Subaru Outback?

Working under the dashboard, remove the clevis pin retaining clips, depress the tangs on the tip of the clevis pin, and push out the pin to disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal. Using a flare-nut wrench, disconnect the hydraulic line from the master cylinder and drain the fluid into a suitable container. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts and remove the unit from the engine compartment. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting to bleed the hydraulic system and tighten the mounting nuts to the torque.
