How to remove and install the front bumper cover on Subaru Forester?

Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Working behind and below the bumper assembly, remove the front part of the wheel housing mud guard and the small splash shield ahead of it to gain access to the fasteners that attach the ends of the bumper cover. Remove the bumper cover retaining fasteners. Installation is the reverse of removal. Again, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Working under the vehicle, detach the plastic clips and screws securing the lower edge of the bumper cover. Remove the screws securing the bumper cover in the rear wheel openings. Open the trunk or rear liftgate and remove the screws and clips securing the upper edge of the bumper cover, then pull the bumper cover out and away from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal.
