At the front of your car, take the knob off the gear shift handle by hand. On models from 2002 or earlier, pull the console cover and the shift lever boot off. Take out the console screws, disconnect all wires, and remove the center console. Reversing these steps lets you put it back. On newer models starting in 2003, use a trim stick to slowly lift up the trim around the gear shift. Remove it from the console, then take off the console cover pieces by unscrewing each fastener. Keep going until the rest of the center console fasteners come out, then you can take off the console side panels. Finally, remove the center console, with installation being the reverse of this process.
