Remove the
Flywheel or drive plate. Pry the rear Crankshaft Seal from the back of the block with a seal-removal tool, taking care not to nick the crankshaft seal surface. Clean the seal bore and ensure the seal mounting surface is free of burrs. Lubricate the new seal's inner lip with multi-purpose grease and the outer diameter with clean engine oil. Drive the new seal in place squarely using a seal driver, large socket, or a section of pipe that matches the outer diameter of the seal, ensuring it is driven to the original depth. Install the flywheel or drive plate, clutch assembly if equipped, and trans axle.
