How to Replace a Water Pump on Subaru Forester?

To remove the water pump, drain the cooling system, disconnect the radiator, and bypass hose. Remove the cooling fans, drivebelt cover, drive belts, timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, and left camshaft sprocket. Remove the rear timing belt cover, tensioner bracket, and camshaft sensor. Loosen the water pump bolts, remove the pump and gasket, and clean the engine surface. Compare the new and old pumps, apply sealant to the new gasket and pump, and install. Apply RTV sealant to bolt threads, position the pump and gasket, and tighten bolts.
