How to remove and install the instrument cluster in a Subaru Impreza with a tilt steering column?

Unhook the cable from the battery's negative terminal. In case there is a tilt steering column in the vehicle, lower it down to its lowest position. Take off the instrument cluster trim bezel. Remove and pull out the instrument panel's instrument cluster mounting screws. At this point you should squeeze release tabs and disconnect electrical connectors from behind of an instrument cluster; then detach it very cautiously. Put everything back together as it was before.
