Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Block the front wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling off the stands. Remove the rear wheels and release the parking brake. Remove the
Brake Discs, support the calipers with coat hangers or pieces of wire. Wash the parking brake assemblies with brake system cleaner before beginning work. Wash the disc brakes and check the parking brake drums for score marks, deep grooves, hard spots and cracks. To replace the parking brake shoes, work on only one parking brake assembly at a time. To adjust the parking brake shoes, turn the adjuster until the shoes rub on the drum, then back off the adjuster slightly just until the shoes no longer contact the drum. Install the caliper support brackets, the brake pads and the calipers. Install the rear wheels and lug nuts lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to. Adjust the parking brake. Test the brakes for proper operation before driving the vehicle in traffic.
