Subaru 26298AA020 Brake Shoe Repair Kit Rear

Loosen lug nuts, raise and secure the vehicle on jackstands, block front wheels, remove rear wheels and brake drums. Release parking brake and clean brake assembly. Check brake drums for damage. Work on one drum brake at a time, remove hold-down springs and cups, lower shoe return spring, brake shoes and adjuster mechanism. Disconnect parking brake cable. Inspect and replace wheel cylinder. Clean backing plate and apply brake grease. Attach upper return spring to shoes, position on brake backing plate and engage with wheel cylinder pistons. Install hold-down pins, springs, cups, and brake drums. Adjust brake shoes, install wheels and lug nuts. Lower vehicle, tighten lug nuts and test brakes.
