For 2004 and earlier models, the horns are positioned in front of the radiator and, if applicable, the air conditioning condenser, typically mounted on small brackets bolted to the vertical support. To detach a horn, remove the mounting bracket bolt, then disconnect the electrical connector by depressing the release tab and pulling it off. After removing the bracket bolt, detach the horn from its mounting bracket. Reinstallation follows the reverse order of removal. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Next, loosen the right side front wheel lug nuts, block the rear wheels, raise the front of the vehicle, and securely support it on jack stands before removing the right front wheel. Remove the front part of the wheel housing mud guard and splash shield, then pull the shield back. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the horns, remove the horn bracket mounting nut, and take out the horn. Reinstallation is again the reverse of removal.
