How to remove the brake light switch for a Subaru Outback?

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the brake light switch's electrical connector. Rotate the switch counterclockwise and pull it from the gray clip. Make sure the gray clip is secure and insert the brake light switch until it hits the stopper. Rotate the switch clockwise, and check for 0.5 to 2 mm of play at the switch tip. Plug the connector and battery then check the brake lights.
