How to Replace a Tie Rod End on a Subaru Outback?

Loosen the front wheel lug nuts and block the rear wheels. Lift the front of the vehicle. Remove the front wheel, mark the position of the tie-rod end, and take out the cotter pin and nut. Disconnect the tie-rod end with a puller and untighten it. Check the tie-rod end boot for damage. Lubricate the new boot and install it. Thread the tie-rod end, then fasten the jam nut and install it on the stud. Install a new cotter pin and then install the wheel. Put down the vehicle and secure the lug nuts. Check the alignment.
