- A:Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the air filter housing, disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body, disconnect the air bypass hose from the throttle body, disconnect the electrical connectors from the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid valve and Throttle Position (TP) sensor, carefully mark and remove the coolant hoses from the throttle body, remove the four throttle body mounting bolts and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, remove the throttle body gasket and discard it, thoroughly clean the gasket mating surfaces, inspect the bore of the throttle body for carbon deposits and/or a buildup of residue and clean it out with aerosol carburetor cleaner, installation is the reverse of removal, and check the coolant level and top it off as necessary.Posted by SubaruPartsDeal Specialist
