    The electric cooling fans are controlled by the PCM, which gets information from the ECT sensor. Check the fan fuse, then test the fan motor with jumper wires. If it fails, replace it; if not, check the fan relays in the fuse/relay box. If faulty, replace them. If not, check the circuit wiring. To replace the fan motor, begin by draining the cooling system. Remove the engine shield, air duct, coolant reservoir, heat shield, cover, connectors, upper radiator hose, and fan shroud attachments. Remove the fan motor and fan. If replacing, attach the fan to the new motor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Refill the cooling system, and verify fan operation.

    Lift the vehicle onto jack stands, and remove the engine splash shield, air intake duct, and coolant reservoir. Disconnect the fan motor connectors and remove the shroud from the radiator. Remove the fan motor mounting bolts, harness clips, and the fan motor. If replacing the fan motor, attach the fan to the new motor.
