- A:Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly from the fuel tank and place it on a clean workbench. To replace the fuel pump, separate the fuel pump and pump holder from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor mounting assembly, disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump, remove the pump from the pump holder and disconnect the inlet strainer tube from the pump. To replace the fuel level sensor, use a screwdriver to release the locking pawls and remove the fuel level sensor from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor mounting assembly, disconnect the fuel level sensor ground wire and electrical connectors and remove the fuel level sensor. To replace the fuel filter, pry the plastic tabs away from the filter and pull out the filter. Installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by SubaruPartsDeal Specialist
