- A:Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the heat shield cover and differential mount front cover (if equipped), place match marks on the rear U-joint yoke and the differential pinion flange, remove the bolts and nuts which attach the yoke to the pinion flange, remove the center bearing retaining bolts, pull the sleeve yoke out of the extension housing and remove the driveshaft, plug the extension housing to prevent transaxle lubricant from leaking out, lubricate the sleeve yoke splines, carefully insert the sleeve yoke into the extension housing, raise the center bearing into place, install the center bearing retaining bolts and tighten them to the torque, align the match marks, connect the yoke to the flange with the nuts and bolts and tighten them to the torque, and the remainder of installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by SubaruPartsDeal Specialist
