- A:Relieve the fuel system pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the rear seat and the rear floor mat, remove the access plate screws and lift the plate from the body floor pan, disconnect the fuel pump/fuel level sensor electrical connector, disconnect the quick-connect fittings for the fuel supply hose and the fuel return hose, loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the jet pump hose, remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor mounting bolts, lift the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly from the fuel tank, remove the old pump gaskets, clean the pump inlet strainer before installing the pump, use a new gasket when installing the pump, installation is otherwise the reverse of removal, run the engine and check for leaks.Posted by SubaruPartsDeal Specialist
