About Subaru GL Series

The Subaru GL series is manufactured by Subaru, a Japanese automaker owned by Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI). It is a compact car produced from 1971 to 1994. The first vehicle was introduced on October 7, 1971, replacing the other model as a front-wheel drive coupe. In fact, the Subaru GL series is Leone. Because Leone offers many decorative levels whose names contain the letters G and L. It is often referred to simply as the Subaru GL series or the Subaru L series. It was released in Japan and some export markets. And for many years, it was the only small Kaye car sold internationally. Therefore, in major markets such as Australia, Europe, and North America, it is identified as a decorative level. It is a pretty good model, having been produced for three generations before being replaced by the Imprez.
The first generation was a front-wheel drive sports car with three trim levels: DL, GL, and GSR. In April 1972, two- and four-door sedans were introduced in the trim levels DL and GL, and Super Touring was introduced in Japan. In September 1972, the four-wheel drive (4WD) station wagon (A67) was released, but it did not appear in the United States as a 1975 model until 1974.

It is powered by a 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter H4 engine and a 1.8-liter Turbo H4 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission or a four- or five-speed manual transmission. On July 16, 1984, the third series was released. The trim level of the previous generation remained largely unchanged, but the North American version of the Subaru GL series 1.6-liter engine was abandoned.
