How Do I Replace a Heater Core?

Have an AC technician discharge and recover the refrigerant. Disconnect the battery, drain the cooling system, and remove the heater hoses, AC evaporator fittings, and temperature control cable. Remove the console, instrument panel, support beam, and blower motor housing. Lift out the heater housing and remove the heater core cover. Replace the heater core, ensuring the sealing foam is secure. Reassemble the housing, reinstall the heater unit, ducts, beam, panel, and console. Reconnect the control cable, hoses, and refrigerant lines. Refill the radiator, reconnect the battery, start the vehicle, operate the heater controls, and check for leaks.

Q: How Do I Replace a Heater Core?
