Periodically inspect the windshield wiper and blade assembly for damaged parts, loose components and worn or cracked rubber blade elements. Road films can accumulate on the wiper blades causing them to be ineffective; therefore, it is important to clean them regularly with a mild detergent solution. These bolts, nuts, fasteners may come undone due to the wiping mechanism; thus they should be inspected together with lightening if necessary alongside the inspection of wiper blades. If these surfaces are no longer as clean as before or show signs of wear and tear such as cracks or warps, then putting in new ones will do. Move arm assembly away from glass for clearance and press release lever then unhook wiper blade assembly out of hook at end of arm. Pull the release lever down and slide off the wiper assembly down towards the end of the arm where it hooks on to it. Fix a new wiper onto your arm. You can tell that everything is set when you hear an audible click between them.
