How to Replace a Control Arm on a Honda Accord on Subaru Outback?

Loosen front wheel lug nuts, block rear wheels, raise vehicle front, and support on jackstands. Remove front wheel. For 2007 and earlier models, remove subframe. Disconnect stabilizer bar from control arm. Remove balljoint pinch bolt from steering knuckle, separate balljoint from knuckle. Remove front pivot bolt nut and rear bushing clamp bolts. Remove pivot bolt and control arm. For 2008 and later models, remove support plate mounting bolts and rear mounting nut. Inspect control arm bushings and control arm for damage. Replace if needed. Installation is reverse of removal. Tighten balljoint pinch bolt. Raise control arm outer end to simulate ride height before tightening fasteners. Install wheel and lug nuts, lower vehicle. Tighten lug nuts. For 2007 and earlier models, remove splash shield, loosen rear-most mounting bolt, remove remaining bolts, secure subframe, and reverse for installation. Tighten bolts.

The Subaru Outback Control Arm connects the wheel assembly to the vehicle frame, which allows for a smooth suspension movement over bumps. This component of a Subaru Outback is a pivoting link.
