Subaru 57420AC040 Trunk Lid-Lock Cylinder

To remove the door handle and lock cylinder, remove the screw cover from the end of the door, then loosen the Torx bit through the hole. Detach the rod clamp from the handle and lock cylinder and pull the rods out from the handle and lock cylinder. Remove the lock cylinder, then move the handle towards the rear of the door while pulling the front of the handle outwards. Remove the outer side spacer from the outside of the door. Working through the opening in the inside of the door, remove the Torx bit from the front of the handle frame, then remove the handle assembly from the inside. Installation is the reverse of removal.

To remove the trunk lid latch assembly on 2007 and earlier models, open the trunk and remove any trunk lid trim panels that surround the latch. Scribe or paint a line around the latch assembly for correct alignment during installation. Disengage the lock cylinder-to-latch rod and remove the two latch fasteners to take out the latch. To reinstall, reverse the steps and align the latch with the marks made prior to removal.
