How to Remove the Sub-Compartment Fuel Level Sending Unit? Posted by Customer

Relieve the fuel system pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the rear seat and the rear floor mat, remove the access plate screws and remove the plate from the body floor pan, disconnect the quick-connect fittings for the fuel supply and return hoses, disconnect the electrical connector for the sub-compartment fuel level sensor, disconnect the jet pump hose, remove the sub-compartment fuel level sensor mounting bolts, lift the sub-compartment fuel level sensor out of the fuel tank, angle the sensor as necessary to protect the float from damage, remove the old gasket and inspect it for cracks, tears and deterioration, if the gasket is cracked, torn or deteriorated, replace it and installation is the reverse of removal.
