To remove the latch in 2004 and earlier models, one has to first open the trunk then remove other trim panels around the latch after which he draws a line around the latch assembly to help in re-installation of the components. To remove the trunk lock cylinder on 2007 and earlier models, open the trunk and remove the trunk lid trim panels. Detach the latch to lock cylinder rod from the lock cylinder, then use a pair of pliers to remove the lock cylinder retaining clip. From the outside of the trunk lid, grasp the lock cylinder and pull it outward to remove it. To reinstall, reverse the steps.
