    Warm up the engine and park the vehicle on a level surface. Remove the oil filler cap. Raise the vehicle and place a drain pan under the drain plug. Remove the drain plug, allowing the old oil to drain completely. Inspect the drained oil for metal shavings and wipe off the drain plug. Clean the area around the drain plug and reinstall it securely. Move the drain pan under the oil filter. Loosen and remove the old oil filter, clean the mounting surface, and ensure there's no old gasket residue. Lubricate the new filter's gasket with clean engine oil and install it by hand, tightening it until the gasket contacts the seating surface and then giving it an additional 3/4-turn. Remove tools and lower the vehicle. Add new oil through the oil filler cap. Check the oil level on the dipstick. Start the engine to allow the new oil to circulate. Check for leaks at the drain plug and oil filter, tighten if necessary. Recheck the oil level. You can Select Your Vehicle to see complete installation and repair tips.
