    How to Replace the Brake Proportioning Valve on a Subaru Legacy? Posted by Customer

    The 2005 and later Legacy models are not equipped with a Brake Proportioning Valve. To replace the Brake Proportioning Valve, unscrew all four brake line tube nuts with a flare nut wrench. Carefully unscrew all line fittings with a flare-nut wrench and remove the mounting bracket bolt from the strut tower. Then, remove the mounting bolt for the Brake Proportioning Valve. Installation is the reverse of removal. Bleed the brake system and test the brakes carefully before placing the vehicle into normal operation.
