The first step in order to approach the exhaust manifold requires a user to disconnect the cable that is connected to the negative terminal followed by lifting the car and placing it over some jack stands. Then, unlock the engine splash shield and cut off the front and rear oxygen sensor connectors. For non-turbocharging remove the heat shields of the exhaust pipes and exhaust manifold: The bolts and studs must be coated with penetrating lubricant to avoid thread stripping. It is necessary to unscrew bolts on the exhaust manifold connector at the center exhaust pipe, and then it is possible to unscrew nuts on the exhaust manifold on both
Cylinder Heads and to take off the manifold. Turbocharged models are similar; first, remove the heat shields, then undo the bolts in the turbocharger joint pipe, and the nuts in the exhaust manifold and a center exhaust pipe if needed. For installation, it is good that the mating surfaces on the cylinder heads, manifold, and exhaust pipe are cleaned with a scraper and solvent and checked that the surfaces are flat and non-damaged. Replace manifold gaskets, fit the manifold on the cylinder head and through bolts and torque to harmonize with recommended torque figure produced by the manufacturer. Screw the coupling nut with the center pipe or the turbocharger joint pipe on the manifold and make equal and tight torque. As a final step, reverse all the steps that were done during removal and join the battery, finally, start the engine and ensure that it has no exhaust leak.
