- Q:How to Remove the Intercooler on a Subaru Forester?Posted by Jeannette W.A:To remove the intercooler on 2004 and later Legacy, Outback, and Forester models, disconnect the PCV hoses and metal lines, the turbocharger inlet duct, and the vacuum hose from the air bypass valve. Remove the intercooler mounting bolts and loosen the hose clamps securing the ducts. Lift the intercooler and unplug the turbocharger and ducts and remove it.
