    The knock sensor is located under the intake manifold, on top of the engine block, to the left of the centerline of the cases and near the back.

    First, remove the engine cover and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. On turbocharged models, also remove the intercooler. Then, disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector by depressing the release tab and separating the two halves of the connector. Note the orientation of the sensor before removing it and make a mark on the engine block where the sensor's pigtail is. Finally, remove the knock sensor retaining bolt and then remove the knock sensor.
