How to Replace a Rack and Pinion Boot on a Subaru Impreza?

Remove the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and place on jack stands. Remove the wheel, tie-rod end, and rack and pinion boot clamps. Wrap the tie-rod threads with tape to protect the new boot. Position the new boot on the rack and pinion gear and install new clamps. Reinstall the tie-rod end and wheel.
