Subaru Impreza Release Bearing

Subaru Impreza Release Bearing is the part that lets the clutch disconnect engine power so drivers can change gears without grinding, ensuring quick smooth shifts. In every Subaru with a manual gearbox, the Release Bearing sits between the clutch fork and pressure plate, and the Release Bearing slides forward when the pedal is pressed to push on the spring fingers, then glides back when the pedal is lifted so drive resumes. Over the years Impreza models have relied on the same thrust design, yet two actuation methods exist, a direct cable on earlier cars and a hydraulic system on newer ones, the latter giving lighter pedal feel because fluid pressure replaces straight mechanical pull. Regardless of actuation, the Release Bearing must stay well lubricated and sealed, otherwise dirt enters, rollers loosen, and rattling noises, pedal vibration, sticking or hard shifts warn of looming failure. A healthy Release Bearing keeps pedal effort consistent. Once wear sets in, damage spreads to discs and plates, so timely renewal keeps any Subaru Impreza clutch working confidently.

Our website stands as the go-to online destination for OEM Subaru Impreza Release Bearing. Subaru Impreza Release Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q:
How to Remove and Install Clutch Disc,Clutch Fork,Pressure Plate and Release Bearing on Subaru Impreza?
    Posted by Nick F.
    A:
To remove the clutch, the transaxle must be detached and the engine supported. Use a clutch alignment tool to support the clutch disc during removal. Inspect the flywheel and pressure plate for indexing marks and loosen the pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts. During installation, clean the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces, position the clutch disc and pressure plate against the flywheel, and secure with an alignment tool. Tighten the pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts in a crisscross pattern, lubricate, and install the release bearing. Finally, reinstall the transaxle and all components.
