Then, disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector by depressing the release tab and separating the two halves of the connector. Note the orientation of the sensor before removing it and make a mark on the engine block where the sensor's pigtail is. Finally, remove the knock sensor retaining bolt and then remove the knock sensor.
